Sylvia plays a key role in numerous ship finance matters, including the sale and purchase of vessels, vessel and mortgage registrations, refinancing arrangements, and sale and leaseback structures. She has in-depth knowledge of the regulatory and procedural requirements involved in such transactions and is well-versed in navigating the complexities of ship registration under the Singapore flag.
She works closely with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) on a regular basis, assisting both lenders and shipowners on vessel title registration, ownership transfers, mortgage registration and discharge, vessel deregistration and BBC-in registration. Her familiarity with the MPA’s processes allows her to manage timelines and documentation efficiently, ensuring seamless coordination between all parties involved.
Beyond ship finance, Sylvia has supported transactions involving the financing of aircraft acquisitions, as well as a wide range of general banking and finance transactions. This includes syndicated and bilateral lending, preparation and review of security documentation, and coordination of multi-jurisdictional closings.
