Employment

We have a multidisciplinary employment team, able to advise on both litigation and advisory matters. Our expertise and cross-industry experience enables us to deliver innovative solutions for our clients’ needs. We design and roll out HR policies, review executive pay, co-ordinate employment cost-cutting exercises and advise on contentious employment issues.
We act for a variety of clients, including large multi-national corporations, medium size enterprises and senior executives. We also work closely with financial institutions and are experienced in drafting complex employee incentive schemes tailored specifically to a client’s operations.
The nature of the work which we handle sometimes requires us to give urgent advice to our clients. The size of our team means that we are always available to deal with urgent matters and to give our clients the support they need. Our lawyers are approachable and proactive. Their advice is practical and commercial and avoids legal jargon.
Through our international network, we have teams of dedicated lawyers in key jurisdictions across Asia, Europe and the Middle East which enables us to offer coordinated advice and solutions to our international clients. In today’s global economy we understand that our clients need advice in respect of their employment and immigration issues in multiple jurisdictions. We have people on the ground in key hubs and we are able to support clients’ HR teams in providing timely and constructive advice in respect of dealing with legal and regulatory requirements.

Advising the Zedra Group on the purchase of BNP Paribas’ trust business in Singapore, and related employment law issues arising from employee transfers of another BNP Paribas entity to the target.

International Transport Workers’ Federation
Advising International Transport Workers’ Federation with the employment aspects of setting up a new branch in Singapore.

Investigations
Advising a client on investigations conducted by the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore in respect of potential charges that the client was hiring foreigners to work in Singapore without the appropriate work passes.

Swire Group
Advising the Swire Group on its spin-off, which includes the transfer of affected employees and their employment contracts, as well as business and asset transfers between the relevant entities across a number of international jurisdictions.

Corporate actions
Advising on various corporate actions e.g. dividend pay-outs, capital reductions, share buybacks and establishment of employee share option plans.
